Cat Wallpaper

image via Achica Living :: wallpaper via Sanderson
Ever since my husband and I started to discuss the possibility of buying a house, I've been on the lookout for cool graphic wallpaper. I happened across this gem today on Pinterest and I am in L.O.V.E !! It completely fits my husbands and my mid-century vibe and cat obsession. Match made in heaven.

How do you feel about graphic wallpaper? Yay or Nay?

Come on Spring...

It's Friday's Fancies on Sunday! Check out the original post HERE.

It's supposedly spring, but here in DC it feels just like winter with no hope for a warm up this week. Desperate for a bit of spring, I was happy to put together this over-the-top spring-infused ensemble.

It's pretty insanely girlie, do you think it's doable or too much?

Lanvin Choker Necklace

Dark & Alternative

How rad is this Lanvin Chocker Necklace? You know I'm not a huge fan of 90's fashion, but if Lanvin wants to bring back the choker, I think I'm pretty okay with it.

p.s. Anyone have $2590 I can borrow?

p.p.s. Happy Friday!

Maybelline Baby Lips

   top left: bare lips
top right: top lip - coral crush, bottom lip - bare
bottom left: both lips - coral crush

I've been looking for Maybelline's Baby Lips Lip Balm in Coral Crush for a while now. I happily found it and snatched it up this week at Target. It is a great color for my very pale complexion. It's a peachy-coral, semi-translucent lip balm and is perfect for the spring and summer. Coral Crush provides just enough color to notice and really does feel lovely on the lips. It is a limited edition color so better go get yours today!

Have you tried any of Maybelline's Baby Lips?

Fruit for Breakfast

I love eating fruit for breakfast. It's beautiful, it's delicious, and it's so very good for you. For someone like me who has to have a wide variety of foods (if I have to eat the same thing over and over I get fiercely cranky) it's also a great way to keep things interesting without too much effort. Because really, who has the energy to be fussing around with breakfast? Some days I'm lucky to find two matching socks in the morning, I definitely don't have the time to be cooking elaborate breakfasts.

Whole grain bagel in the toaster, small schmear of cream cheese, and a heaping helping of pomegranate seeds for a cool sweet crunch.

Whole grain waffle in the toaster, handful of blueberries on top (hellooooo superfood!) and voila, delicious and pretty to boot.

And of course "the classic" toast with homemade jams and a side of strawberries or a sliced up apple. So very simple and so very satisfying.

I love sharing pictures of my pretty meals, you can see them all over on instagram. Let's be photo friends!

Forever21 Cat Sweater

My beloved Audrey Superkitty has been having some not so fun health problems recently. She was diagnosed hyperthyroid, not too uncommon for senior kitty lady babies. We thought all was well, we had her on some medications to help balance her out and then all the sudden she went several days not keeping anything in her tummy. So back to the vet we went for more blood tests and to get some fluids in her system so she doesn't get too dehydrated. She ate some lunch and didn't get sick (YAY!) and is now napping out on the couch. Hopefully all is well.

Needless to say, kitties have been on my mind more than usual (which is really saying something!). I love this funny little cat sweater, don't you?

Ann Taylor Peplum

I love the textured lace overlay on this magenta pencil skirt from Ann Taylor. It lends itself perfectly to a nice and simple top and statement necklace. I've never tried the peplum look myself. I think for my personal style, it's a little too fussy and could potentially draw more attention to my bottom, which believe you me, does not need any help.

Are you guys still into the peplum trend?

Happy St Patrick's Day!

It's Friday's Fancies on Sunday! Check out my original post HERE.

On no other day of the year would you be able to get away with wearing this green and gold ensemble, but it is St. Patrick's Day so I think you're good. You should be able to make it through the day pinch free.

Vintage Purses from Etsy

I just love a good vintage mid-century purse. Don't you? They have so much character; so unique and quirky. The 50's and 60's had such a diverse range, everything from super sleek lucite to quirky cute Enid Collins. I love each and every one of these bags, but I think that Craig satchel is my favorite...

Bar III Front Row Dress

Fit and Flare dresses like this one by Bar III are great year round, but especially early spring... when you are still trying to shed the last of those extra winter pounds. They accentuate the chest and waist and hide all that extra baggage on your belly, hips, bottom, and thighs. Well, at least that's what I'm always trying to hide.

Kate Spade Mariella Dress

I just love Kate Spade. She designs the sweetest dresses. They are always playful enough to dress up for a fun weekend romp, but also structured and ladylike enough to wear to the office. Versatility for the win!

Spring Sandals

Yes, it's still winter. Yes, the federal government was closed due to snow yesterday. Yes, I am dreaming of warm, sunshine-y, springtime-y days. Days perfect for these flirty, open-toed platform sandals...

I think I like the Emma Wedge best, but the Kona Sandals are so versitile!

Spring String Gardens via Terrain

image via terrain

If you aren't already familiar, terrain is a garden center / cafe by URBN INC (Anthropologie & BHLDN). It is "inspired by the idea of merging house and garden to create an experience for the senses" (urbn.com). Being there you feel as though you've just stepped into a photo set for Anthro. It's purely magical.

I was introduced to them through one of my dearest friends, Kristen Hudson Nichols about three years back. We went for lunch in their cafe (delicious!) and then I was promptly inclined to spend my entire paycheck on the various plants and planters and lotions and books and stationary and... well you get the idea. If you are ever in the Glen Mills, PA area, I highly, highly reccomend stopping in.

To the point, today on terrain's blog I came across this oh so cool tutorial for Spring String Gardens. I am going to try creating these and hanging them at the sunny window in my dressing room. The tutorial sounds simple enough, but I'm sure I'll make a mess! I will report back with how well it goes.

Have any of you ever tried something like this?
