Life is a Maize Dress
For me autumn is all about layers. You can still wear your favorite summertime dresses, just pair them up with some knee high boots and thick socks to stockings to keep your legs warm and a nice big cardigan to wrap yourself up in should you catch a chill.

Nine West Bleaker Booties
I love Nine West Shoes. It's as if they took a mold of my long skinny foot and made shoes exactly for me. I'm never disappointed in the fit, comfort, or quality. Case in point, the Bleaker Booties I just got on sale at Macy's. I was a bit unsure how I would feel about them (I purchased online) because they are a little on the country side. Luckily, when I received them, not only did they fit like a custom made glove, they are the perfect balance of style. You could definitely wear them Texas two steppin, but if that's not the look you're going for, they will happily morph to your needs. They are the perfect addition to my 80's-mod-rocker style. So much so that I just bought them in grey as well. They are available on Nine West's website in black too, and I'm kind of tempted to go for the trifecta I like them so much.

Frankenstein Manicure
Happy Mani Monday and Happy Halloween!
This week I did a super fun frankenstein manicure. It requires a bit of a steady hand, but you don't have to be a pro since it's a silly sloppy monster. It was easier than I expected!
(this color stains your nails a bit, I recommend using a clear base coat
as well as a coat of white underneath to protect your nails.)

Pumpkin Costume
I love a good costume, but sometimes they can be expensive. Some years it's worth it to take a more ladylike spin on a costume so that the money you spend on the garments doesn't feel so bad because you can piece them out into your everyday wardrobe. I love that everything in this outfit is totally affordable and totally versatile. I actually did this same outfit last year with a dress I snagged in the sale section at H&M for only $7!! Total score!

Big Bird Costume
This year for halloween I wanted to be Big Bird and have Mr.Husband be Cookie Monster. Unfortunately with all the political hooplah going around this election season, it's just a no go. Too many people will also be dressing as the lovable bird and I don't want anyone to think it has anything to do with a political agenda. I just like Big Bird. But for the record, I'm with the bird. :)
