Casual gypsy witchy jams

I'd wear these jams walking around town, you know, being all cool and shit. Casual and comfy, yet still a bit dark. Also, on the lipstick note, I've been into wearing just a light layer of mascara and nothing else on my eyes with dark, dark lips like these from cruelty-free and vegan Brija Cosmetics. Werk.

p.s. SOMEONE PLEASE BUY ME THIS NECKLACE

Full Coverage Swim Bottoms

It's that time of year again. Bathing suit season, where I begin my annual search for a full coverage swim bottom.

So here's the dish. I've got a big ol' booty, an extra long torso, and strikingly pale skin. The thought of finding bathing suits to meet all my hyper specific needs can be overwhelming.

... ... deeeeeeeeeep breeeeeeeath ... ...

I can't wear a one piece (even though that would be my preference) because my torso is even too long for long torso suits. I can't wear a two piece because I burn so easily and am prone to skin cancer. I need a swim bottom that is FULL coverage. Any bikini bottom is guaranteed to go straight up my toosh; I need something that is a full coverage short. AND last but not least, I want to look good.

Each year I begin the search anew and add pieces to my "cover this body up as stylishly as possible" arsenal. Last year I snagged some great swim shorts from target in both black and blue. They are a bit loose around the waistband area, but not horribly so. Frankly, that may not be an issue for everyone. I happen to fall on the end of the curvy scale with a size small waist and size large booty. This year I ordered this striped rashguard (with a SPF 50 rating) and these boy-short bottoms from Old Navy. The top is quite flattering. The bottoms are comfortable, but have a much lower rise than the pair from Target, so be advised.

So what do you all think? Do you like the bag and sandals I've paired this up with? Do you have any super awesome full coverage swim suit resources? Do you have any super ultra extra long torso resources? Are you comfortable flaunting it all at the beach and pool? Are you more modest like me? Do you sometimes feel like a nut? Sometimes you don't? Do you think I should wear a red scarf around my neck with this suit and pretend to be a mime on the beach?

These are a few of my favorite things...

Happy Holidays! As 2012 comes to a close, I wanted to share with you a few of my favorite things. First on the 2012 favorite thing list: Almay Oil-Free Makeup Eraser Sticks. They are brilliant. Brilliant I say!! Perfect for your pocketbook, these babies have oil-free makeup remover inside the wand of a cotton swab.

They are simple and convienient, Almay says:
  1. Hold end with color ring up.
  2. Gently snap and allow remover to flow down filling the opposite tip.
  3. Smooth saturated cotton tip over makeup to gently lift it away.
I love love love (love love) these and very highly recommend them. They seem to be easy to come across, I've purchased them at both CVS (where I first discovered them) and Target. Right now they are buy 2 get 1 free on Ulta.com (Hello awesome deal! Stock up!!)

Have you used Almay's Oil-Free Makeup Eraser Sticks?
What did you think?

The Temptress' Power

Last Friday I dipped into Rite Aid to pick up just a comb and nothing else. No need to look anywhere but at the combs. Eyes forward. ... ... And then I came home with nail polish, eyeliner, and some halloween goodies. Typical. At least for the nail polish I can blame L'oreal. They've clearly enchanted this color with the Temptress' actual power. I was helpless.

This week's #manimonday:

The Temptress' Power #696 by L'oreal (top) - I purchased it at Rite Aid, but it's not online...

Early Summer Date Night

After hanging out with some of my Blogger BFF's at Violet Boutique's Lookbook party and talking about how I just don't wear shorts, my tall blogger buddy Waverly (who was featured twice recently on Refinery29 DC!) gave my a little boost in confidance. I decided I should just be brave and DO IT! Kind of ironic that shorts scare me and dying my hair green is a walk in the park, but in my defense my legs are really long and REALLY pale. It's alot to share with the world.

Target Shoes - Adventures in Dressing Rooms!

I went to Target to buy frozen Lean Cuisines for lunch, but somehow ended up in the shoe section. Go figure. Here's what I tried, they've got some really cute styles right now!

You know me, I'm the queen of COLOR, so it's a bit ironic that my favs of the bunch were both tan. I didn't buy any when I was trying them on in the shop, but as I was typing up this post and linking the photos back to Target so you can see the item details, a wonderful thing happened... Buy One Get One Sale!!! It's via target.com for 50% off your second pair of shoes or handbag and only runs through May 26, so best get moving if you want to take advantage. I bought the Washi Wedge Sandal in Tan AND the Pollie Strappy Espadrille in Tan. They are so versatile I think they are gonna get lots of use this summer!

So which are YOUR favorites?? Are you going to take advantage of the sale? Let me know what you get if you do!

Thrifty Thursday! five pieces for $90.77!!

Ugh, forgive me! Of all days, today Forever21 decided to post some new shirts (yay!)
and in doing so this lovely silk woven top has vanished (boo!) C'est la vie.

Instead, try this simple t-shirt in chocolate.
It will create an edgier look, and save you $8.80 bringing this total look to only $81.97!
