Casual gypsy witchy jams

I'd wear these jams walking around town, you know, being all cool and shit. Casual and comfy, yet still a bit dark. Also, on the lipstick note, I've been into wearing just a light layer of mascara and nothing else on my eyes with dark, dark lips like these from cruelty-free and vegan Brija Cosmetics. Werk.

p.s. SOMEONE PLEASE BUY ME THIS NECKLACE

Cruelty Free Haul - Nasty Gal

Nasty Gal gets me every time. Over the Memorial Day holiday weekend they offered an additional 50% off already reduced prices. A sale on a sale (GAH!), how could I resist? Here's what I snagged and it's all Cruelty free!

Nasty Gal does a really good job labeling the content of all their items, which is hugely appreciated by consumers like me. Both pairs of shoes are all synthetic materials and the brushes are synthetic as well. I'm still struggling to find cosmetic brushes I love since going cruelty free. I'll keep you posted on how I feel about this set in a few weeks.

Did you guys partake in any holiday sales? What'd you get?? Tweet at me and share your super awesome finds!

Wednesday Addams

Untitled #93

I think the less disposable income I have the more my designer tastes surface. Case in point, Wednesday Addams by Valentino. She'll only set you back $5200... Oh you like the bag too? This Dolce & Gabbana is a steal at just under $1500. Good thing I'm doing my best to not buy real leather anymore, or I might have splurged. *0_o*

All kidding aside, while I'm not tooooo devastated about the leather designer duds, let's be frank, I wouldn't have bought them anyway, I *am* totally bummed about these super-cool leather Jeffrey Campbells. My friend Dana has these and THEY ARE SO GOOD. Surrrriously. Plus they're called the "Scully" platforms. So bonus points for the nerdom.

Lanvin Choker Necklace

Dark & Alternative

How rad is this Lanvin Chocker Necklace? You know I'm not a huge fan of 90's fashion, but if Lanvin wants to bring back the choker, I think I'm pretty okay with it.

p.s. Anyone have $2590 I can borrow?

p.p.s. Happy Friday!

p.p.p.s. If you are into fashion of a darker nature, check out my newest board on pinterest: Dark & Alternative

Rocker chic

rocker chic

Not that I had any money to purchase any of this when I was 20, but man oh man am I jealous of the selection of "dark" rocker chic clothes that are on the market now. Don't get me wrong, I still covet all my vintage slips, corsets, and British combat boots, but it was a lot harder for us back then to be alternative. Maybe harder is the wrong word, it took a lot more effort, which in a way made it a super exclusive group to be a part of. Who knew 15 years later it would be borderline mainstream...

Black Booties

I am fascinated with fashion's continued expedition into the world of badass chicks. As someone who wore combat boots, platform boots, and creepers and cut up my clothes to reconstruct them with spikes studs and safety pins for a good portion of my life, I sometimes feel as though I am in some parallel universe. Stud covered booties at Nordstrom? Bondage strap boots at Bloomingdale's? Sooooo surreal. But hey, the more the merrier says the mature adult me (the not so mature me says "Get off my lawn you lame-ass posers! I had to order those from the UK when I was your age. Ah, kids these days...")

Bondage straps, buckles, chains and spikes. Here are some of my favorites right now:

My Fave:
I love that these have a thick chain underneath the arch. It's completely tough, but also subtle enough to make these black booties completely versatile. Goth all grown up shall we say.

Anna Sui grunge

When I was young(er) catching me leaving the house without my black eye makeup, dark burgundy pout, and boots on was near impossible. It's slightly bitter sweet to see the grungey-gothy trends of my teens and early twenties come full circle. Bitter sweet because honestly, it makes me feel really old. Whatcha gonna do? C'est la vie.
