sunday inspiration #15 - monochrome

Happy Sunday Dudes! Today's Sunday inspiration is monochrome, which I am super stoked on. Totally reminds me of the 60's, one of my all time favorite decades. What's inspiring you this week? Don't forget to check out what is inspiring my blogger bff Gina this week over at Tulle and Combat Boots!

I grabbed all these images from pinterest. Generally I loathe not properly sourcing images, but I'm just so pooped tonight! I will do my best to go back later this week and find the proper sources. In the meantime you can check them all out on my pinterest account :)

Sunday Inspiration #13 - cobalt

Happy Sunday Dudes! Today I want to just lay around the house and recover from last night's remix release party for my band Technophobia at Black Cat. We played with two SUPER RAD bands: Curse from Baltimore and Void Vision from Philadelphia. They were amazing and I am so pleased that they were able to join us for our big event. You can listen to the remixes streaming HERE!

Anyway, on to some sunday inspiration! This weeks hue is cobalt. I love this rich color and was very taken by the combination of cobalt and rusty reds and browns. I very unfortunately was unable to properly source all these images, but was so taken by them I couldn't not share. If you happen to know the original sources for them please do let me know!

So what is inspiring you this week? Don't forget to check out what is inspiring my blogger bff G this week on Tulle and Combat Boots!

Sunday Inspiration #12 - moss green

Happy Sunday Dudes! Today I want to share some moss green inspiration with you.

Green is my favorite color and this earthy hue makes me feel centered. While I'm on the one hand a rock&roll city chick, I find myself most spiritual and at peace alone in some green space. Whether it be a walk in a park, a hike through a forest, or just sitting under a tree by the road, feeling grounded to this planet gives me at times an overwhelming sense of smallness and hits home how silly it is for such an insignificant piece of the puzzle to fret over silly things as I often do.

Cherry Blossom Pink - Sunday Inspiration

It's cherry blossom season here in DC and I'm feeling quite inspired by pink! Cherry blossom trees line the streets in my neighborhood, they are truly beautiful. Couldn't be more perfect timing, this winter was a tough one, it's lovely to have a reminder of why DC with all it's faults is actually a nice place to live.

Make sure to check out my blogger bff Tulle & Combat Boots Sunday Inspiration too!

Colored Jeans

Colored jeans. You love 'em, I love 'em, a whole bunch of bloggers at the IFB conference love 'em, and it looks like for at least one more season these babies rein supreme. Here are four different retailers, with four different price points, and four different color pallets. Perfect to fit anyones pocketbook and style!

Tripp Skinny Jeans in Purple , Pink , Orange , Yellow , Green

A quick story...
I love Tripp. Back in the day, you couldn't just pick up a pair of Tripp pants in the mall like you can these now. I used to make the drive up to NYC to visit Jimmy (you can find pics of him on their blog HERE) at Trash and Vaudeville, where he would always try to squeeeeeze me into a smaller size of these super duper skin tight jeans. "Jimmy, there is no way I can squish this size 11 butt into a size 7." I shouldn't give him any crap though, he was always right, and would always one way or another get me into the tightest pants possible. While I highly recommend the experience of Jimmy and the fun of Trash and Vaudeville, lucky for you, you don't have to go to NYC anymore to pick up a pair. Hot Topic always has some online and as of right now, they are buy one get one 50% off.

Hair Chameleon

I'm a bit of a chameleon when it comes to hair. Pink, green, yellow, purple, you name it, I've done it. But in the end, I always seem to gravitate by to my ginger roots. Sometimes it'll be a pale strawberry blonde, sometimes a bright carrot orange, and sometimes I'll go dark to a nice rich mahogany.

Today however it's the other way around. I've been rocking the ginger for awhile now and am ready to do something different. Here's the photo I'm taking to the salon for "color inspiration" What do you think?

Metallic Pink

colorwheel - pink

Let's talk bandage dresses for a moment, shall we? I am SO OVER them. Whether they are authentic Herve Leger or one of the tens of thousands of knock offs, they've just had their moment. Don't get me wrong, it was an awesome moment, but it's time to moooooooooove along. Well except for today that is, PINK METALLIC BOMBSHELL! Hollaaaaaaa!

p.s. it's the last color in the colorwheel! big thanks to G over at Tulle and Combat Boots for this super fun challenge!

Pretty Purple

Today is Purple day for me in Tulle and Combat Boots color wheel challenge! G of the aforementioned blog and I met up to go to DewDropDC's swap this past Saturday and had oodles of fun catching up, grabbing clothes and brainstorming our world domination.

That's not my cigarette. Ew.

I dunno what I was talking about, but apparently it involved pointing.

It wouldn't be a photo shoot avec moi sans goof-tacular pictures. Go go gadget double chins!

This is cutie patoooootie extraordinaire G of Tulle and Combat Boots She was super nice enough to take all these pictures of me! Yay for blogger bff's and style twins! I swear we totally unintentionally match, like alot. Case in point our bright blue tights.
Toooooootally coincidental.
Kinda freaky.

pricey purple

purple colorwheel

Seriously folks, this is why in the past I have stayed away from polyvore as a blogging tool. I'm just way too attracted to super super duper super expensive clothes. Case in point: Balmain gold and purple cocktail dress. In my defense, it is OVER half off right now... a totally reasonable $11,195.00 (!!!!!) (yeah, that IS the sale price)

Don't forget to check out all the colorwheel posts! G over at Tulle and Combat Boots has been doing daily round up of the participants, just shoot her a message if you wanna play too. :)

knit blue

Last night I had the privilege of going to the Capital Food Fight and thus didn't take the time to pull together an outrageous blue ensemble (check out my twitter for some pictures of the deeeelicious food!). Sooooo, to keep the color wheel coverage on track, I wore all blue to work today!

What I'm wearing:

Cowl Neck Sweater via Banana Republic (Delaware)
Legging Jeans via Gap (web)
Goodall Heels via Fluevog (Chicago)
Blue Beret via Souvenir Shop (Paris)

On my eyes:

MAC Eyeshadow in Bang on Blue light application all over lid
MAC Eyeshadow in Climate Blue following sweep of cat eye liner
MAC Eyeshadow in Creamy Bisque on tear duct and highlighting under brow

Thoughts on the beret?? Do I look ridiculous? Honesty appreciated!
Also, don't forget to check out the color wheel round ups on Tulle and Combat Boots!

Happy Friday!!
