pricey purple

purple colorwheel

Seriously folks, this is why in the past I have stayed away from polyvore as a blogging tool. I'm just way too attracted to super super duper super expensive clothes. Case in point: Balmain gold and purple cocktail dress. In my defense, it is OVER half off right now... a totally reasonable $11,195.00 (!!!!!) (yeah, that IS the sale price)

Don't forget to check out all the colorwheel posts! G over at Tulle and Combat Boots has been doing daily round up of the participants, just shoot her a message if you wanna play too. :)

Indigo oh oh

COlorwheel - Indigo

Happy Monday! Today is indigo day for me in Tulle and Combat Boots colorwheel challenge. I love this chic rich ensemble, what do you think?

knit blue

Last night I had the privilege of going to the Capital Food Fight and thus didn't take the time to pull together an outrageous blue ensemble (check out my twitter for some pictures of the deeeelicious food!). Sooooo, to keep the color wheel coverage on track, I wore all blue to work today!

What I'm wearing:

Cowl Neck Sweater via Banana Republic (Delaware)
Legging Jeans via Gap (web)
Goodall Heels via Fluevog (Chicago)
Blue Beret via Souvenir Shop (Paris)

On my eyes:

MAC Eyeshadow in Bang on Blue light application all over lid
MAC Eyeshadow in Climate Blue following sweep of cat eye liner
MAC Eyeshadow in Creamy Bisque on tear duct and highlighting under brow

Thoughts on the beret?? Do I look ridiculous? Honesty appreciated!
Also, don't forget to check out the color wheel round ups on Tulle and Combat Boots!

Happy Friday!!

teal-tastic

colorwheel - blue

We've made it all the way to blue! Goooooo rainbow! I love this dress, super cute & kitchy. Quirk it up with chunky funky jewelry and matching nail polish.

Happy Friday!

Vintage Green

And I've made it to day green! Green is my favorite color, ever, in the whole wide world.

Also, I figured out where I went wrong in this "Color Wheel" challenge. I just wasn't thinking circular. So while everyone else is wheelin along, I'm on the Rainbow connection. It's all good though, I've never been much of a conformist. Ha ha!

What I wore:
Vintage Dress via Shangri-la Vintage (Chicago)
Skinny Belt via Forever21 (web)
Vintage Jade Bead Necklace via family heirloom (Grandma B)
Knee High Socks via Gap (web)
Wedges - Michael Antonio *i think* via Piperlime (web)
**this is what happens when you take pictures at home at night and post on your blog somewhere else the next day... DOH!**
Vintage Bowling Bag via An Antique Mall in Omaha, NE *i think*

Don't forget to see what everyone else is wearing in the Color Wheel Challenge. G. over at Tulle and Combat Boots is doing daily round ups!

Army Green

Army Green - Colorwheel

Loving these army green garments! Pair up this sweet blouse and adorabelles shorts with a warm creamy knit and block heel pumps or a military detail coat and some lace up booties. Divine!

Don't forget to check out other bloggers takes on the color wheel challenge. G over at Tulle and Combat Boots is posting round ups of the participants!

Not so mellow yellow

So this is how you can tell
A) that it's Wednesday
B) that I don't normally post pictures of myself
C) that I'm not big on mornings

All I can say is, I don't really smile like that.
But really, I was "finding the light" as we say in the modeling industry and once it was found squinting and grimacing directly into it. No good.

Anyway, moving right along...
It's much less painful when you don't stare directly into the sun.

Clearly today is YELLOW day for me in my colorwheel week with G over at Tulle and Combat Boots. I think she is going in reverse order from me (or more appropriately I didn't follow her directions!!) so I'm not positive what color she is on today. Oh well...

To the point, YELLOW! I love yellow. Funny thing though, it is highly under-represented in my wardrobe. Go fig.

What I pulled together for today is:

Blouse with Bow detail via H&M (Maryland)
Chunky knit scarf via Old Navy (Virginia)
Yellow Satchel via ASOS (web)

On my eyes:
MAC eye shadows in Chrome Yellow, Three Ring Yellow and Casa Blanca via MAC (Virginia)

Sadly my eyes didn't photograph well. I used the chrome in the corner and crease, three ring over the lid and casa blanca on the bottom lash line and in the tear duct. It's a subtle but pretty ombre effect.

Also, just of note, I promise to practice taking better self portraits! Ha Ha!!
